Biography of Jacob B. Adams of Fairfield Township, Illinois

Jacob B. Adams, Fairfield, was born January 19, 1837, in Dayton, Tippecanoe Co., Ind. He is a son of William and Isabell (Bushong) Adams–the former a native of Virginia, and the latter of Kentucky. They were the parents of five children, viz.: Samuel, Mrs. Margaret J. Rinehart, Jacob B., our subject, Mrs. Catharine Meek, Mary M., (deceased), and Francis Adams. The parents came to Bureau County, Illinois,. in the fall of 1840, and settled in Fairfield Township, Section 12. William Adams yet survives [1885].

Jacob B. Adams was reared in Bureau County where he has made farming his occupation, and now owns a farm of eighty acres. Politically, he is connected with the Republican party. Mr. Adams was married March 28, 1872, to Nellie Olson, a native of Sweden. Mrs. Nellie Adams was a good wife, and the fond mother of four children, viz.; Annie L., born January 25, 1873; Almie M., born July 13, 1876; Fannie M., born October 8, 1879, and Minnie Grace, born June 13, 1881. Mrs. Nellie Adams died September 3, 1884.
