Since receiving his commission, he has been made Chairman of the Committee on Architecture, Drawings, Topographical Surveys, Maps, etc. He is also one of the Committee on Grounds and Exterior Ornamentation, the Printing Committee, and the Committee for Collecting Exhibits for the Seventh Congressional District.
